Yoga & Spiritual Yatra
A Divine Trail of the Elephant-Headed God Across Varanasi
Overview
Lord Ganesha is the remover of obstacles and the god of new beginnings.
While Asht Vinayak Yatra is traditionally known in Maharashtra, Kashi too houses eight sacred forms of Lord Ganpati, each guarding a different direction of this holy city.
Omvity now brings this lesser-known yet powerful path to light — a spiritual walk filled with grace, learning, and divine presence.
Just as the Asht Bhairav Yatra protects Kashi, the Asht Vinayak Yatra prepares the soul.
It clears karmic obstacles, sharpens intention, and blesses you before entering deeper spiritual zones like Panchkroshi, Aditya Yatra, or Durga Sadhna.
Highlights
The day, hour by hour
Inside Kashi Vishwanath Temple Corridor (South Wing). Most famous and highly revered Ganesh in Kashi. Considered the entry point deity of Kashi Darshan. Start here with Sankalp and Modak offering.
Near Vishwanath Gali, inside a small shrine. Symbol of success and accomplishment. Worshipped for clearing mental and career obstacles. Short mantra chanting done here.
Dashashwamedh Area, hidden in an alley near Godowlia. Turmeric Ganesh — associated with healing, wealth, and protection. Ancient shrine worshipped by Ayurvedic healers and traders.
Kedar Khand Area. Rare and esoteric form of Ganpati worshipped in tantric traditions. Offers blessings for siddhi, spiritual confidence, and freedom from fear. Worshipped in silence or with low-voiced mantras.
Assi Ghat Area (inside a home-temple, local access only). Worshipped with flowers, perfumes, and sweets. Represents beauty, celebration, and the joy of living.
Rajghat Region (on the banks of the Ganga). Guardian of travelers and boatmen. Symbol of safe passage and journey completion. Perfect photo stop with Ganga in background.
Near Durga Kund Temple. Associated with Shakti and feminine energy. Worshipped especially during Navratri and auspicious days by women. Harmonizes Ganpati's strength with Devi's grace.
Maidagin–Chowk area. Remover of Obstacles in the purest form. Ends the yatra with a symbolic closing of karmic challenges. Devotees whisper their inner wishes here, completing the cycle.
