Overview

What this journey is, in one breath.

Varanasi is often called the city of life, but it is also one of the world's most powerful centers of death and spiritual release.

The Death & Rebirth Night Walk is a 2.5-hour immersive journey that explores Banaras as Mahashmashana – the Great Cremation Ground.

Starting at a temple symbolizing fertility and new beginnings, this walk takes you deep into the philosophy, rituals, and raw realities surrounding death in Hindu belief.

You'll witness how death here is not feared, but seen as a gateway to liberation (moksha).

The walk concludes with an intimate evening Aarti at a riverside Shiva complex – a deeply spiritual experience rarely seen by casual visitors.

Ideal for travelers interested in religion, anthropology, and the metaphysical cycles of life and death.

Sunrise boat, walking, burning ghat

It was an amazing experience by Omvity. We enjoyed the morning sunrise boat tour and walking tour — we saw the burning ghat and temples.

A real learning experience

Our tour of Varanasi was fantastic. A polite and very entertaining guide, and besides being very knowledgeable, it was a real learning experience. The team helped us with everything we needed throughout our time in Varanasi — food, accommodation, boat tour, reliable tuktuk, and even took beautiful photos.
